Jacob Greenberg
Sr. Technical Lead, Mechanical Engineering Department
What do you do for WMS?
I am a Sr. Technical Lead in the Mechanical Engineering department. I lead hardware design teams and work with all areas of the company to invent, develop, and improve new products. Recently I worked as the lead for the five reel mechanical product, and am currently leading the team developing the new Bluebird 2 cabinet.
Where did you work before WMS?
I worked for General Binding Corporation designing paper punch and binding equipment for office and production applications. Prior to that I worked in the design and manufacturing of automotive gaskets at Fel-Pro and automotive/industrial clutches at Warner Electric. I also used to make sandwiches at Togo's and am always happy to discuss the pros and cons of different approaches to sandwich making.
What is your favorite movie?
The Empire Strikes Back
What is it that you most dislike?
I dislike any situation where people aren't respected for the abilities they bring to an activity. I also can't stand licorice - worst candy ever.
Which word or phrases do you most overuse?
According to a coworker, I usually phrase design suggestions in terms of "what that part really wants is...". Also (and I blame my youth in California for this) I use "bitchin" and "sweet" more than many people might choose to.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I would welcome any musical talent - losing the beat while singing "Old Macdonald had a farm" with my son is tough. |
