WMS believes in making a difference in the communities we live and work in. Through our program Lend a Helping Hand, we volunteer our services to social service organizations, schools and other non-profit organizations throughout the year.
Through this program, we have helped children’s homes, the homeless, the elderly, women’s shelters, childcare centers and local schools near our offices with efforts that have included:
- Coat Drives
- Community Landscaping Projects
- Used Eye Glasses Drives
- Home Construction with Habitat for Humanity
- Food Drives and Food Sorting and Packing
- School Supply Drives, Painting and General Facility Repairs
- Parking Lot Repairs
- Blood Drives
- Holiday Gift-Wrapping for Kids
WMS also supports our employees who are making a difference in their own communities. We offer every employee a paid day off every year to volunteer for a cause that matters to them.

Bagels With Brian
We all share in our vision here at WMS and that’s why gatherings, such as Bagels with Brian, are extremely important. Bagels with Brian is an "informal" gathering of employees and our CEO, Brian Gamache, where he answers questions about the company and looks to employees to provide comments, suggestions, or areas of improvement within the company.

Women’s Networking Group (WNG)
The Women’s Networking Group (WNG) is a voluntary organization formed to support the professional strength of women at WMS. The WNG is focused on activities that deal with communication, education, networking, outreach and support. It’s about creating opportunities within WMS for mentoring, sharing, teaching and learning. What it comes down to is enhancing the skills already present!
There are many ways to be involved in the WNG. Committees within the WNG include:

- Professional Development Committee
- Work-Life Effectiveness Committee

Green Initiatives
We realize that our earth is very precious and take our responsibility to protect it seriously. With that we’ve established a Green Committee to oversee our dedication to this effort. We’ve done many things to improve and protect our environment, including:
- Elimination of styrofoam cups
- Replacement of plasticware with biodegradable Spudware®and BagasseWare®
- Insertion of water line in fountain soda machine
- Addition of recycle containers in various locations

Employee Opinion Survey Results
There are a lot of reasons why companies conduct employee opinion surveys. With our results we are able to measure employee opinions about WMS, their jobs and their work environment. And survey data isn’t just static numbers here.
We’ve tasked managers and their teams to convert the survey data into information that has caused them to create actionable items, communicate those ideas, and create action items to convert the current state of affairs to a future scenario of “what does better look like.” And, finally, these groups demonstrate success by the implementation of those ideas.
